|
Hey I currently reside in the USA and i recieved my lisencure here, but I am interested in permanently relocating to a different country. I am curious as to what reciprocity is like for both limited techs and RT's.
I've searched my eyeballs out and I cant find the answer to my question. Can someone certified in the USA be an xray tech in the UK? or anywhere for that matter. Or who would be the best to call to find this information out.
Thanks |

Darn good question. I know that Canadian credentials are good here - the other way around? Can't say for sure and the ARRT website doesn't say for sure.
You could do the same search I did (not sure why I did it for you) - did a search for Canandian Assn of Radiographers and got a link to the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists. And, under 'certification' was a link for internationally trained RT's here - http://www.camrt.ca/english/certification/international/internationally_educated.asp
From here on out, you're on your own.
Good luck

I've been trying to transfer my ARRT credentials into NZMRT board in New Zealand and over there they require to have a bachelors degree to able to work in radiology.
Getting an American credential recognized in other countries is a lot harder than I thought. |

What most technologists in the US are not aware of is that the function of Radiographers in other countries can be markedly different than it is here.
The educational requirements in many EU countries are much more rigorous, the training more extensive as Radiographers may work more as PA's than as technologists.
