This is kind of embarrassing to even post, but I need this information. About 6 years ago when I finished high school I was licensed as a C.N.A. I worked at a long term care facility and was accused of verbally abusing a patient. I was fired on the spot and it was reported to social services. There was an administrative hearing held so that I could contest the charges; I, being so young and stupid at the time, didn’t even bother going. So therefore my name was placed on the nurse aide abuse registry.
Since then I have finished college and am working in a totally different field. With the way the economy is at this point I would like to get back into healthcare for job security. I’ve been looking at the rad tech program offered by a local community college and I meet all the requirements. No where on the application does it mention anything that would pertain to any sort of abuse registry. I’m positive I could get in the program my only concern is would this cause me problems getting licensed or obtaining employment ?
Please respond..

You'll hear a lot of opinions here - your best bet is to go to the people with the power. Call the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists). Their main number is (651) 687-0048.
Don't quit until you speak with someone about your specific circumstances. While it might be possible to enter a Radiolgic Technology program, it's quite likely that you would not be allowed to take the national certification exam (and without it, no job).
