can anyone please enlighten me on the following:

1. Why is it that when i go through many papers, authors assume bias field (also known as intensity inhomogeneity) to be a multiplicative model and not additive? Shocked

2. Which segmentation method is most resistive towards intensity inhomogeneity?

Thank you!
