I wrote an email to ASRT after they sent me an application for a bridge membership. The problem is, I can't even afford that one- why? Because I can't get a freakin job! I'm underqualified due to lack of experience and overqualified when I've tried to get hired at places that employ NCTs.
Unless stricter laws are made and ENFORCED we will lose jobs to the cheaper alternative.
Is this more of a national or state issue? What organizations/leaders do you think would be good to write concerning this?

Don't expect a lot of sympathy from the registered techs, and students fighting our ways through school to become registered. You want a job? Go get registered and compete with the majority of the competition.

LOL! You missed my point entirely! I AM an RT(R) that does not appreciate having to compete against cheaper NCTs. We need more support from organizations like ASRT and ARRT to lobby more and support/protect our profession.
