.... and the only reason i'm breaking this down is because you're an engineering student, not a tech.... i don't like doing tech's students work...

well, the first 2 images you can't really tell that much, because the image really isn't that great. the second one, if you look at the bottom of the image, do you see how there's more white? that could be hemorage, or that could be normal.

now look at the next image (#3). the bone on the outside is white. see how it's a nice sharp defined edge? bone and calcium have that kind of edge because they're dense and hard. looking in the middle of the brain, dee that white and light grey "splotches"? that's a hemorage or bleed. on the bottom of that image, you see the line going up the middle? that's one of the sinuses. sometimes, even on patients without a bleed, this will be this color. but there's also some blood in this patient's csf. this is in the ventricles. many times when you see a hemorage, it'll be a "splash"of white in a grey area.

look at image #4. most of the brain is grey, but on that one side, there's a "splash" of the lighter grey? that's a bleed.

image #5 also has what's called "midline shift", where one side of the brain is pushed over to the side. basically, the brain needs to be symetrical - the left needs to look like the right. if you look at images #4 and #5, image #4 has a slight midline shift away from the bleed or to the right. image # 5 looks like they had some trauma to the right side of the head, causing the bleed (again, see that "splash"?), causing the midline shift away from the bleed. i would really hate to be person #5. see that round thing in the middle of the bleed? that may be representing some sort of mass. i'm not a radiologist, but that's what it looks like to me.

don't really like doing that stuff because i'm not a doc, but, i hope this helps...
