Are there a lot of opportunities to work evenings and weekends as a radiologic technician?
Would sonography work be better for chances in finding evening work? |

The reason I would like to work evenings and weekends is because I would like to finish business school during the day as a part timer after completing vocational school. I also have a small venture to oversee during the day.
Would having a business degree and an ARRT certification open up other opportunities in the field such as management? I'm assuming it would already open up a sales position.
Although job security is rated pretty high as a radiographer, I don't like the idea of relying on being only a radiographer. |

Oh, I think you can completely rely on the job security of imaging. You are much more likely to decide that you like the variety of doing both business and health care - 'cause trust me, other business fold (can you say "dot-com"), but health care will be around forever.
But if you'd just like to have more options, by all means, work on any other projects your heart desires.
And yes, a degree will be a requirement for going into management. So will, at the very least, a few years in the trenches.
Good luck

There are other modalities in the radiography field.
General diagnostics is not the only part.
But as hjhogle mentioned, a few years of work in the field will move you faster. You have read ads that want people with experience?
Degrees are fine if you have the money and time. But, life is so short
why not enjoy it as you go through it.
Also, being a Jack/Jill of All Trades is not always the best way to go.
Employers do notice the list of schools one attends to determine if
you are a professional student.
