Hi, i wanted to see how everyones program is actually organized, such as the state, length of time in clinicals & class, How many students, Feel free to describe your program.
I'm currently in a hospital based program north of Pittsburgh, PA. Its a 2 year program and we are in the hospital for 40 hours a week. Out of that time we are in the class portion for about 10 hours per week. We have our class room in the basement of the hospital and when were not in class we are up in the department working. So far i have been in my program for 7 months now and there are 8 students in my class. The program is designed to have 8 first year students and 8 second years students. The grading policy is that all students must have atleast an 80% in the class room and an 85% in the clinical portion. The program is broken down into different classes and if a student takes a final for a class and scores below an 80% they then look at the over all class score and if that is above an 80% the student gets to retakes the final. If they get below an 80% the second time they are out of the program and if they fail the final and are under the 80% in the class they dont get a second chance and they're out of the program. The program is connected to Clarion University with their B.S. in Radiological Science degree. All of the students in my class came from Clarion University. Clarion's program was two years spent in Clarion University and then students applied to about 6 different clinical sites for their last two years. Once the student is finished with the two years at the clinical site They are awarded with 60 credits from clarion university to complete their B.S. in Radiological Science. Students complete 60 credits at Clarion University their first two years and then receive 60 credits when they finish their clinical site. Though it is connected with Clarion University, the program is separate in their decision to pick students, they can pick anyone and they are a certificate program. There is so much more i can say about this program but i need to get going, feel free to put any information about your program. |

I am in a hospital based program in Detroit, MI. It's a two year program, 40 hours a week. we have classes 2 days a week and clinicals 3 days a week. Our classroom is also in the basement. We have to maintain an 80% or above in all classes and clinicals however, our comps have to be 95% or higher. They accept 13 students to begin with and my class currently has 9. We rotate through all the different areas within our hospital but then we also go to different hospitals, outpatient clinics and ortho clinics.
I graduate in August and I have to say it's been a rough ride. |
