|
I am going into my 2nd semester without knowing anything about Rad physics and I would like to know where I can buy a good book that I can teach myself, because the math professor in my program is pretty horrible at class lectures, and the text I got isn't any better. Any replies or ideas are appreciated. |

I used a TI-83, and it was more than enough calculator.
Also, my class used the Bushong book mentioned above, which was very good. Our instructor also spoke highly of the Carlton book but I never saw it so I can't comment on it. |

The only kind of calculator you will be allowed to use on the registry is a basic four function and the window-based calculator available on most computers. Keep that in mind while learning the math aspects of radiology. I used a cheap $10 scientific calculator from Wal-mart while in school and had no problems in school or on the registry. |

Ok, I have bought the book just like you said. Now I know I am getting ahead of myself, but can you tell me which registry exam review book would be better for me to use, the Radiography Prep 5th ed. by D.A. Saia, or The Practice Guide for the Radiography Examination by F.A. Davis/ Jennifer Thomas |

The best radiography books to use to practice for the registry are the books you use to learn the information in the first place. Learn the information well the first time. Absorb all the knowledge that you gain throughout your courses. Take no information for granted.
Secondly, take the registry as soon after graduation as you can. Don't put it off.
You will do fine.

I find this book very helpful in my Rad physics. It is entitles "Principles of Radiographic Imaging: An Art and a Science.
