|
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience or knows anyone with experience of transferring from one rad tech program to another? I currently reside on the west coast and am thinking of moving out to the east coast. However, I've just started a radiation therapist technology program and I'd like to inquire about whether or not transferring to another program is (1) even possible, and (2) if so, is it a relatively smooth transition? Do programs allow transfers or would they prefer having students start and finish at one program? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all... and I'm overjoyed to finally be in the presence of such awesome professionals as yourselves. _________________ jcj2081 |

Yes I have seen it a few times - What I would recommend is you perform very well clinically and academically. Then about 3 months before the end of your 1st year, e-mail program directors in the areas you'd like to move. Type a well-written cover letter in the body of the e-mail, and reference any supporting info that would make them see what an asset you would be by coming to their program. Attach current transcripts, recommendation letters, etc. Certainly you would want to inform your current program director - as well as receive their blessings - for losing you (or getting rid of you). If you communicate your intentions and prove you are leaving in good-standing, I would expect many program directors would be happy to accept you. |
