I had a thoracic mri and brain mri w/wo contrast 1 1/2 days ago. Within first 10 minutes of thoracic scan felt 'too hot' and burning heat mid abdomen and between shoulder blades. Started worrying and heart rate increased. Techs pulled me out, checked skin for redness on chest/abdomen and removed warm blanket. Proceded with remaining thoracic and brain scans. I assumed at the time it must have been heartburn from the onions/full meal I had only a couple hours before scan. The next morning my thoracic spine felt hot and bothersome. Used ice packs off and on all day to help remove heat. This morning still have some heat when rest back against chair. So the heat is improving slowly, but concerned. I understand some heating can occur in the area being imaged, but this seems a bit too much.

I have no metal implants, pacemaker, drug patches, etc. I do have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome/autonomic disorder and some intolerance of heat. Questioning MS and differentials at present.

I cannot find much information online to address this issue.

Should I be concerned? Should I contact the radiology department and report it? Contact my neurologist/GP? Should I continue ice packs to reduce heat sensation.

Thank you for any suggestions.
