|
Does anybody have comments on taking the registry? Did you find that it corresponded with the information you studied? I recently graduated August 13th. I took the test on August 16th I still have no idea as to how well I did and I felt that the Registry in no way resembled the huge pool of questions I encountered with Appleton & Lang as well as the Saunders. Very frustrating when taking the test the question made sense then the options were in left field (not all though). I would have rather taken a test that jived with the material studied. |

As an instructor myself, I'm sure that the material you have been taught has prepared you. But that doesn't mean you should take it lightly. I'd get a good review book.

My exam is on sept 21 and I am in Canada, but we study from your books so I hope there will be no difference in the exam questions. I have tons of books, but lately I read and practice on the computer test from Appleton & Lang's book, the fifth eddition Prep by D.Saia. Exactly how did the questions differ from the ones in this test, I think they teach you the base, thats all you need and a sharp mind to connect the facts. I had printed the logaritm table for the density and wanted to study it, but people told me I don't need it, I need the basic knowlege, not numbers. Please give an example if you remember, question you've never seen before and not mentioned in the study material whatsoever ?

I took my test July 30th. I felt the test was hard, as it should have been. The only book I studied was Appleton and Lange's. I wasn't expecting it to be exactly like our review book, I knew it was going to be different, worded different. I was told to know my book backwards and forwards. I knew that book extemely well. But I didn't want to get into the trap of just knowing the answers, I wanted to know the explanations, as well. If there was something that I didn't understand I was reading the explanation, then looking them up in my book til I understood why I missed something. I think too many students get into the trap of just studying the answers, then when they take the registry the questions are different, they don't know the answer. People, know why you answered the way you did on the review books. You can connect the answers to the questions that way.
It's been over 3 weeks now and I still haven't recieved my results. I did call last week and was told I passed, and I'm on the directory listing with the ARRT, but I don't know how well I did yet.
To anyone who hasn't taken their test yet, the best of luck!! The test is hard if you don't know your stuff. Study, study, study. If you know your stuff you won't have that difficult a time with it.
Good luck!!
