Smile Hi! Can someone please answer my question? Im currently a student working straight for my mri associate degree, and Im planning to move to Texas in the future, does someone knows if I have to have an x-ray tech certification before the mri one in order to work in texas. I would appreciate it if someone answers my question. THANK YOU!

You could do what I did. I went to the ARRT site, checked the list of state licensure contacts.

Went to www.dshs.state.tx.us/mrt/ (so you know you're getting accurate information) and did a search on MRI and found this document.

Halfway down page one is the statement:
"If you only perform procedures utilizing sonography or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), certification is not required"
