Hi all,

Could someone please explain in detail why the noise increases when slice thickness is reduced.

Here is a great .pdf file presentation from Michael F. McNitt-Gray DABR, Associate Professor, Department of Radiology, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, which goes into detail the tradeoffs of image quality and dose.
