Don't worry, Boomers will be retiring by the boatload soon. There will be plenty of jobs in the next couple of years.

not just that, there is a cycle.

check the nurse boards and job listings. there is probabally more nurse jobs out there than tech jobs. every couple years it does this. no tech jobs, lots of nurse jobs. then slowly it'll switch. right now i think we're at our peak of the cycle. it'll turn around soon.

also, look at the economy. for any carreer, you're lucky to find a job. businesses in general just aren't hiring new employees as much.

just my $.02

I'm not so sure about that. At my last hospital there were a ton of old techs who simply aren't retiring. By old I mean 70 and still shooting xrays fulltime with no immediate plans to retire.

Boomers are working to much older ages than past generations. Partly because they physically can do these jobs and partly because a lot aren't in a financial position to retire.
