|
I currently work for a provider of both equipment and service to an array of different diagnostic imaging systems. I am trying to figure out better ways to serve the imaging community. We currently provide service to both outpatient, hospital, & independent MD's.
I would like to know what you like most about your service provider and what you dilsike most? If you could improve the service or sales on the equipment, how would you do so? I will be in sales of systems soon and I would like to know how much influence RT's have on the facilities final decision of purchasing a new system or not?
Any input would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone has any questions for me, I would love to help answer them. Thanks for your help. _________________ Metropolitan Medical Imaging

I have been the radiology field for 27 yrs. And I have worked in hospitals, clinics and a drs. office. None of the RTs had any say so in the equipment
or services.
When a hospital wants to expand the dept., the decisions are made by
outsiders. Never do they ask a tech what is the most efficient use of space.
Then the engineers think they know radiology (the kvp and mAs). Oh I had
a field day with the engineers in the CAT scan room.
The only place where an RT would be able to make a suggestion is at a
private doctors office - such as a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons office.
They do not do many exams, but they do want to stay in compliance with
the radiation laws.
Good luck with your new work and have some fun.

I would have to agree with the prior poster! It never fails that the "Upper managment" or Project managers" never get the input from the users. There are many times vendors have to change their installation or modify placement of equitment after it is installed due to better workflow seen by the staff that is using the system.
If they only asked for their opinon prior to the installation this would save time and money, and really help on the moral of the techs using the stuff! _________________ Medical Information
