What are the types of radiation that are termed x-rays? Are there more than one way they are produced?

Ther are x-rays and there are Gamma rays. The only difference between the two is the origin. Gamma rays are produced from the nucleius of an atom, x-rays are produced by Brems effect. If I remember my physics right.

Is this what you are asking?

Yes, there are different ways Xrays are produced. There are the Bremsstrahlung interactions and the Characteristic interactions. Here is a chart of the radiation and hope that helps clarify what the xrays are.

There is no difference between a Bremsstrahlung & a characteristic interaction. They are simply produced in different ways. Below 70 kV, 100% of x-rays porduced are bremsstrahlung, & above 70 kV, about 85% are bremsstrahlung.
