I just started my Rad program and wanted clarity about imaging. Does the image show the body parts closest to the cassettee or the body parts closest to the bucky. For example: If I am doing an LPO on the x-ray table and I lay the patient on their left-posterior-oblique side is the image going to show me their right side because that is what is directly in front of the bucky or am I going to see their left side becuase that is on top of the cassettee? Sorry for such and involved and maybe retarded question.

Only partly retarded - don't feel bad, it won't be your last one!
But. for all intents and purposes, the cassette and the bucky are in the same place.
In addition to other things, the bucky acts as a holder for the cassette.
Do you perhaps mean (instead of the bucky) the radiographic tube (the radiation is emitted from here)?
Regardless. All parts of the body that are in the field of view will appear on the image. Whichever body part is closest to the film (or image receptor) will be the most clear. There are a few projections which visualize the "up" side .. the part furthest from the film (or image receptor), but in general, it's the part closest to the film (or image receptor).
