I've been in my current career for 20 years and have been seriously wanting to get into medical imaging. Circumstances don't allow me stop working for two years and attend school full-time. So, Ive been looking for part-time/night schools in my neck of the woods which is central NJ (but the NYC area and Allentown, PA area is possible). I was a little more than disheartened to find no schools or hospitals that offer part-time programs. Am I missing something or is that the way of medical imaging training? (I really hope that I'm just missing something.) Thanks. |

A list of accredited (this is KEY) programs can be found here on the ARRT website - http://www.arrt.org/index.html?content=http://www.arrt.org/nd/listOfSchools.ndm/listSchools&iframe=yes
To the best of my knowledge, there are no part-time programs out there. You can certainly work on pre-reqs part-time prior to starting a program , but I think that once the program itself starts, it's full-time.
Anyone have any specific knowledge of part-time accredited programs?

Hey v92c I also have to work, single mom and all that goes with that but I have been doing ok so far. I have been going to school for about 3 years and just started my program. believe it or not I am delivering pizza at night and going to school during the day. Its hard but its all how you put it in perspective. 2 years is nothing in the whole scheme of things ya know? Good Luck in whatever you decide
