Hi All, I'm trying to decide between sticking with massage, becoming a Physician Assistant, or getting into involved in Radiology. I have a pacemaker. I know I wouldn't be able to work around the MRI, but whatever specialities would I have to avoid, if any? Would Medical Dosimetrists be ok? Dosim really interests me.

THANKS!

You would not need to avoid any other specialties due to your pacemaker.

For information on becoming a licensed Physician's Assistant, see the AAPA website - http://www.aapa.org/about-pas/becoming-a-physician-assistant

A PA is a licensed, independant practitioner of medicine who, under the supervision of a physician, performs many of the functions of a physician.

For information on becoming a nationally certified Medical Dosimetrist, see the AAMD website here http://www.medicaldosimetry.org/generalinformation/education.cfm

Thank you. I've done a lot of research b/w the two and just can't make up my mind. Frustrating.

I would think that you would only need to be worried if you were the patient and not the radiologist or other professional. I would think that you would be safe working as any professional. But you may want to ask a radiologist.
