Is anyone familiar with the Q values used by a Kodak Orex CR system?

I just started a new job as a limited scope tech at a clinic that uses this system. I'm doing my clinicals in a hospital that uses a Fuji system and I have S# ranges to go by. This Orex system uses Q values but no one can tell me what is the appropriate Q value for images and the other techs just go by what's on the monitor. I did look in the manual and all I found was one page on Q values which gave a huge range - something like between 100-600, but didn't break it down like my Fuji exposure recommendation list does. For my Fuji system, extremities should be between 75-200, abdomens between 100-400 - I'm looking for some guidelines like that.

i would contact Kodak for those. system numbers can vary from vendor to vendor, and sometimes from processor to processor.

According to the ASRT's Online Digital Imaging Academy(ODIA) CEU, it states that the Radiologist makes that determination. I am sure that the distributor can assist them in determining that number, but they make the final decision. You might ask them to determine their optimal diagnostic range.

Thanks. I suggest that everyone try the CEU's on digital imaging. They are free and very informative. A lot can be learned about the new imaging technologies. 15 Available Cat. A CEU's provided by the ASRT.
