Hello! I would like to get several opinions (good or bad) on the new Tom Cruise Law. This law was just passed to help prevent ordinary citizens from buying and performing their own sonograms without the appropriate liscence. I know the instructors at my college have strong opinions, I would like to know what students and sonographers think. Thanks!

As a soon-to-be grad I was so upset that Tom did this! First of all, it is demeaning to all u/s when someone acts like anyone can do u/s. Ultrasound is operator dependent; meaning that if I see pathology, I can choose to image it or not. An untrained or even newly trained sonograper can easily miss pathology. I giggle when people tell me it looks easy; of course it does! we are trained to do it!
