|
Hello all. As you can see I'm new here. I've been researching online about radiation therapy and that's how I got here.
My name is Denise, I'm 23, and I'm currently serving in the United States Air Force, doing something that has nothing to do with this
Being in the military, going to school, and being a parent all at the same time is no easy task, but I would do anything to make sure that me and my child will be taken care of.
I've been researching and the only way I can pretty much go to school for now is online, so my question is: Is there a online radiation therapy degree? If so, could you post links? I'm trying to start by August, because I have to go away for a couple of months, so I wasn't able to enroll for this semester. Any help will be greatly appreciated. (Also if is not available online, I'm in Florida, Okaloosa County, so if there's anything close by I will do my best to go as well.)
EDIT: Oh gosh, I just saw this is probably not the place to post this, sorry about that. I would appreciate if a mod could move it to the right place. |

No problem posting your question here.
Problem is this.
There will be some pre-req's you'll be able to complete online. HOWEVER. *Any* profession that is clinical in nature will not allow for program completion without practicing in a clinical enviroment. Let's face it, do you want a brain surgeon who trained online without ever seeing a patient? Our profession is no different.
I suggest you begin by looking a accredited therapy programs near you - here is a link to 'accredited programs' page on the ARRT website (ARRT is one of the certifying agencies that imaging professions use, 'accredited programs' provide education acceptable to them - if you attend a non-accredited program, you may not be able to obtain needed credentials when you graduate)

Good luck |

Thanks for the info, I understand what you're saying. I'm just interested in taking all the general classes for now, before joining the military I was getting my major in chemistry so I'm sure I've taken some classes that are required for this program, but I want to start again, it's been really long and I hate not to understand things. I know later on it will require hands-on training, and while taking the general classes I will do the arrangements so I can attend on-campus.
Is just really hard, I've been trying to go to school for something I like and being in the military doesn't help sometimes... I'm stuck here and the schools are so far. I'll keep researching, I think what I'll do is to try to find the programs curriculum and take the general stuff for now while I see what I can do.
Thanks again. |
