I just got accepted (the first time I applied) to the radiography program at my local community college! I am stoked to be one of 22 applicants chosen this year out of 300+ applicants - I just wanted to say one thing about this forum...aside from the fact that it seems the market in many areas in the US seems to be saturated (I'm not letting that deter me)...I just love to see how much all of you experienced RT's that post to this forum, really love your job and how passionate you are about what you do - many of the forums I've been on and testimonials I've seen from people in the field is that they have been doing it for years. That says alot in my opinion about the field. I wish I would have started it younger, but I'm only 35 and my motto is there's no time like the present! It is nice to have a place where newbie's can go to get advice and see what it's really like. I will begin my program this summer and I am extremely excited!

Honey, trust me. 35 is a perfect time to start something new (and so is 18 and 55 and 62 ...)
Good luck - keep your enthusiasm intact, remember that there are negative people in ALL walks of life, and you'll bump into them in radiography. The good news is that you can learn something from them. too. Just keep your eyes on the prize.
Welcome

I will keep my eye on the prize, thank you.
BTW - hjh ( I think your name is Heather??) - I like reading your posts most of all. You are very matter-of-fact as well as inspiring. I hope I run in to a few like you in the field. _________________ Never give up on your dreams... |

That's probably one of the nicest things that anyone's ever said to me.
I thank you.
