Hey people!
I am seeking some advice on radiography.
I am currently a second year university nursing student in Australia and after having a successful 15 level (T3-L5) fusion for scoliosis and spondylolisthesis and a full corneal transplant at the age of 28 I now want to switch into radiography, preferably diagnostic. Due to my health battles throughout the past three years I feel I might be selling myself short by doing nursing and want to do something more complex and focused. Also, my surgeon was happy with the idea of me doing radiology instead of nursing and said it would be better for my spine.
I love physics, physiology, and anatomy and have a strong basic understanding of them. However, advanced mathematics is something I have never undertaken. I am a fast learner, but am concerned I may not have what it takes to grasp the complexity of the math involved in this profession. Just how much math does one need to know to get through a radiography degree?
I applied for radiography for 2010 and the university stated I did not have the qualifications necessary, even though I have kept a credit average in my nursing degree. Does anybody have any ideas on how I may go about switching into this course so late in the game? uni starts back in early March.
