I was also worried about not getting in and Frank, the RAD director, really eased my mind about it. He actually tried to get me to apply earlier but I wanted to ease into going back to school (it's been 17 years!). This semester I'm taking 3 classes, then two next semester and then I'll be into my Healthcare Prereqs. Seems like a long way off but I know it will go fast. I'm just worried about going full time in the program with two kids, one of which is a competative simmer, so between practices, meets, and school things should get interesting. But, let's just take one semester at a time, shall we?
Good luck, and I'll see you in about 1 year and 5 months (wow, that seems like a long time.......) |

Hey azradgirl you can do this! I have 2 sons and I have been working 40 hrs a week and doing the school thing at night. I had to give notice at work for the program but I am hoping I can find a part time night job somewhere to feed us all. Do you have a second income? There is only me in my house but my sweet mother has offered to help with my house payments. Has anyone else had to work while in school? |

My husband works, two jobs at the moment (night shift, and then he's gone 3 days/week). So that means he's not around much, which is why it's up to me to drive the girls (9 and 6 years old) to school, swim practice, etc. My girls are to young to be left alone at night (no relatives near by), so I will probably have to take out a student loan to pay for the actual program. Right now we are paying 100% of my tuition and books, but once the program starts it will be to much to do on our own. |
