I am graduating in June, and was wondering what kind of questions to expect as a new tech coming into the field?? |

I would focus on general interviewing skills. Start here:
http://hotjobs.yahoo.com/interview
Next, detail and summarizes all aspects of your clinical education -- different types of exams you performed, what you liked about working at your clinical site, disliked, etc.
I found it VERY helpful to get additional experience outside my clinical site -- working PRN at various ortho clinics. I can now walk into any doctors office and complete exams whether film, CR or DR.
Be sure to get general letters of recommendation from supervisors, radiology manager, clinical instructor, etc.
Good luck! |

While in general, I support the suggestions of Funny Bones to unekgal, I have to take issue -
You're still a student, and yet you're being hired to perform as an unsupervised imager, exposing the public to radiation? Why would a physician - attempting to keep office costs down - spend the money for a fully trained, certified/licensed Radiographer when they can hire someone who has not even completed training?
That, my friends, is why national licensure is a must.

i dunno, hjh, i've seen a lot of places (granted, not necesarily private offices, mostly hospitals) offer employment where "ARRT registration within 1 year of date of hire" is acceptable. i think these place may be hurting for techs.
i know i got my first x-ray tech job the summer semester of my first year of school. i think i was probabally an exception: they just really liked the way i could shoot. should i have gotten that job? probabally not. but one thing it did do was give me some time to "test the waters" with what i had learned already. i started to find my own way of doing things. they were very understanding with the fact that i was still a student, and hadn't seen everything yet.
