I passed the registry exam in Tampa yesterday morning. The job market is tight, but something will turn up eventually. I have a line on a couple things and will stay on top of them until I get on board, or the fire burns out.

I have an IT background and in an effort to make myself more marketable and open as many doors as possible, I sought out PACS certification while I was doing the RT program. So in addition to my RT and Network+ certification, I'm also a Certified PACS Associate (CPAS). Right now the informatics side of the house seems to be my best option, and I am scheduled to start an internship with a local radiology group in the PACS/RIS department. This is one of the fires I have going and hope that it may be able to turn into a full time informatics position down the road. Time will tell.

So, a long time poster to the board in the student area, and now I'm crossing over to the tech side to say hello.

CONGRADULATIONS!!!

first rule of x-ray club, don't talk about x-ray club. Wink

seriously, welcome. i hope you look forward to your new carreer as much as i did when i passed my boards.

no matter what, keep your head high, nose to the grindstone, and always do a good hard day's work. people notice. maybe not management all the time, but techs too. it's a small world out here, and everybody knows everybody. if you can make a good name for yourself, you'll be welcome wherever you go.

and never forget: never stop learning. you'll be suprised as to who has a new trick up their sleeve that they can show you.
