Hello everyone!! I went to my local community college yesterday to get the ball rolling on starting on my degree of Radiography. I am 30 yrs old and I am excited to finally make something of myself. When I was in my early 20s, I got accepted into the surgical tech program and did wonderful on bookwork, but when clinical time rolled around, I quickly realized that the surgical tech life was not for me. I have self-confidence issues that I am trying to make myself overcome. I would love to hear from anyone who is a radiographer. I would like to know if radiography is a good line of work to go into. I want to enjoy my job. I of course know that radiography, like most jobs, can be very stressful. What would be the most difficult learning material in the Radiography program? Thanks to anyone who responds to this post.

I am not so sure that confidence is really your issue. For if this was the case then I highly doubt you could have gotten the courage to post this question.
Most the time confidence comes from your comfort level of the duties you are preforming. And as with anything new we are all not going to have the confidence that we will when we have don't the task over and over again. It's all about learning.
So if this is really what you want to do. Then stick it out and remind yourself that everyone was a student at one point of their lives. So hand in there.

Hi - I too am just getting the ball rolling and I am very excited about the future that's before me. I am currently in school for accounting and will be transferring before the fall into the radiology program...well taking the core courses at least.
I am 40 and feel like I am just now starting life over. I have two daughters one is living outside of the house and the other has one more year before college. I think now is as good a time as any to pursue my dream. Radiography is not a saturated market and health care is one field that I don't see losing the need for employees.
Good luck to you and I look forward to seeing more of your posts. _________________ The only constant in life is change....I think it's time that you got used to it
