I have some back issues, and had an MRI done on my LUMBAR. I would like to know, what the findings mean in lamen terms, as I am no doctor

Below are my problems and questions, if someone would please be kind enough to answer them

IMPRESSION:

1 MODERATE-SIZED LEFT POSTERLATERAL DISC HERNIATION AT L5-S1 WITH MODERATE EFFACEMENT OF THE THECAL SAC AND EFFACEMENT OF THE LEFT S1 NERVE ROOT.

Is this the same thing as impinging on traversiong nerve root & thecal sac? And, can it go down in time, where it's not pinching my nerves

2. SMALL CENTRAL DISC HERNIATION AT L4-5 WITH MODERATE CENTRAL SPINAL STENOSIS.

Could this small herniation get worst? And, if it does what would the negative effects be? Or most common negative effects that would occur?

3. DIFFUSE CENTRAL DISC BULGING IS PRESENT AT L2-3

Isn't a Bulging disc, the step before it herniates? And is so, If this disc becomes herniated is there nerves close to it that it would pinch?

Any answers would be appreciated.

Thank You

4. NO OTHER FINDINGS ARE INDENTIFIED.

To partially quote a previous post -

If you've arrived on this site to ask someone to look at images for you, or explain a finding, you're not in the right place.

Those who frequent this forum are Radiographers, Sonographers and the like - we are specialized in performing diagnostic procedures and obtaining images which a physician (a Radiologist) will interpret.

Radiographers do not interpret images, nor are we qualified to interpret the diagnostic report. Take your questions to the physician who ordered the MRI you had. If you're not satisfied with what you're told, get a second opinion. You can also try contacting the hospital or imaging center that performed your MRI. The Radiologist who interpreted your MRI may be willing to speak with you.

As per the forum Rules and regulations, MR Reports given by Radiologists are not to be discussed in any form.
If u need more details contact the hospital, where u undergone MR.

MRINAWAS, not sure where you're looking, but I've never seen any forum Rules and regulations, and I've never seen anything that says that "MR Reports given by Radiologists are not to be discussed in any form"

That said, this forum is frequented by imagers, not physicians. If we are all who we say we are (and there's no guarantee of that, this is an anonymous site), then our specialty is obtaining images, not interpretation. We are not qualified to comment on on diagnostic reports or images that someone might post here.

But there are no "rules" that I'm aware of.
