Hi,
I am asking other techs to please post the way in which your hospital carries out emergent call of technologists.
Do you have emergent call? If not, why?
What do you do instead?
I'm looking for new ideas to present to my manager to either eliminate or improve how call of techs is carried out. Call at my hospital SUCKS, for the simple fact that a)most of the techs here feel as though it's a nuisance to be called in or b) would be worthless when they got here IF they came at all.
Any and all ideas/comments are greatly appreciated and if any part of this message is unclear, or I need to go into further detail, just let me know. Thanks so much! _________________ Don't make me break out my nine . . ty kVp technique! Add/hit me up anytime with questions on my yahoo messenger!

A call stiuation idea
I worked at a hospital and call worked like this.
All the techs that were all RTs had their name up on a board and we took turns taking call.
And we passed the pager around. We use to make it a game.
When the tech who was on call that nite came back into work the next day
she would put the pager on the ledge of the blackboard where all the names of the techs were listed. And the next tech for that nite would get
the pager. Call started at 6pm till 7am so if the even tech needed help
the call tech was called in
We were a family and if the tech on call was working really hard that night
we let her/him stay home and sleep till he could come into work.
He/she was not docked. It was just understood we were family there.
Taking call was not a burden at this place they made it easy because
of the chief techs attitude it was handed down
So try to make a game out of it
Everyone shares
Another idea is try to find a tech who is retired that might want to pick
up some extra cash
Good luck _________________ exp rad tech/mammo/bonedensity/ct/other mod
