I was told my MRI's came back ok. Except for a small syrinx C6-C7. Yet, I am suffering tremendous pains in my neck and upper back.

Here is my medical history that may be relevant.
1. Syrinx C6-C7, had electric like burning pains in left arm and shoulder, minimal neck pain.
2. Recovering 1.5 years from Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkins Lymphoma stage IIB bulky mass just over 1/3 mediastinal with symptoms. The cancer insinuated itself around the arteries off the aorta. Large involvement of the left supraclavicular lymphnodes, minor involvement of the right. No other major organs involved. Received 12 cycles ABVD and 32.4 Gy radiation to neck and chest. treatments ended 1.5 years ago.
3. minor facet arthrosis L5-S1.
4. May or may not be relevant, I'm not sure. MRI of brain shows, Bilateral internal auditory canals are filled with CSF signal. Multi-focal polypoid T2 hyperintense foci are demonstrated in the bilateral maxillary sinuses, may represent intra-sinus polyps or retention cysts. Subtotal inflammatory opacification of the left frontal sinus, left anterior ethmoid air cells and bilateral sphenoid sinuses. Unilateral limited inflammatory opacification of the right mastoid air cells. No evidence of focal intracranial space occupying process or blood brain barrier disruption.

Please, if possible, examine these images. I feel as if the radiologist made his reading quick and careless. However, I may be wrong and I know this. That is why a second look is soo important too me. Thank you for your time and service.

This is a forum for radiographers who specialize in performing studies like MRI, CT and "x-ray".

This is not a forum for radiologists who interpret studies like MRI, CT and "x-ray".

It would be irresponsible for anyone who is not a trained expert in interpretation to attempt to "read" MRI images, especially MRI images that are posted online. Diagnostic displays are specifically designed to provide exact information ... and images posted online and read from any old computer monitor will not display the necessary detail.

If you are not satisfied with the interpretation of your MRI, you certainly have the right to a second opinion, and most insurance companies are willing to pay for at least part of that.

Good luck,

I understand. I had spoke with my PCP and he said it is common for the radiologist to not see or find certain conditions. That is why I have a copy on CD, to take to my Neurologist. He will be able to look deeper into the MRI's and possibly order any further testing if he feels the need to do so.

I was also told an MRI is only as good as the radiologist who reads it. And it is not so common but does happen where a patient can get an all ok report when in fact there is something wrong.

Thanks for explaining this forum. I will get a second opinion as well.
