|
Hi all. My question may have been answered already, but I haven't seen it posted anywhere. If it has, feel free to redirect me to a helpful thread. I'm currently working on my bachelor degree and I plan to major in biology, take the MCAT, then apply and God willing, get accepted into med school. My lifes' goal is to become a diagnostic radiologist. I can't see myself as anything else but a doctor. The reason I chose radiology is because I love to help people, but I can't stand the thought of crushing another human being's spirit upon telling them that they have a life threatening ailment, or even worse telling a family that they just lost a loved one. I would do it if necessary, but that is what turned me away from family physician and surgical positions. (I hope that doesn't sound selfish) I also need something that will challenge me regularly as well as require knowledge in technology. I feel as though I'm passionate about it. Even though I'm not in med school yet, I constantly find myself studying x-ray images and researching everything I can about radiology. If there are any practicing radiologists or med students on this thread, did any of these reasons play a role in your choice to study radiology? I may sound obsessed with my future, but with such a long term commitment, I'd rather not make a mistake about this. Thanks! -Jeff |

You won't find MD's or med students here - this site is frequented by Radiographers - those who produce the images Radiologists interpret.
