Mammograhy tech and salary question?

I am a an exp xray/mammography technologist 25 years and certified on hologic bd
when do you ask what does the job pay?
when you do you ask do you ask yearly or hourly wages when you ask?

I would like to know what others are doing so I fit in better on the interview
I have 25 years+ experience so I want to make sure I get my correct salary and with all my years experience included

I use to wait for the interview but since it is a long distance
phone call in another state wouldn't it be okay to just ask over the phone?

Also any adivce to a tech going on a solo mammography job?
as far as checking out the potential place of employment of it's status with state inspections? this is supose to be public information but is there another way for me to look at it ?
before getting involved?
