Lindsay

Radiography training in the US is SIGNIFICANTLY different than the UK. How does that work?

Hi there hjh,

U.K. clients are aware of inevitable cultural and clinical practice differences from overseas candidates and this is taken into account when taking up either a locum or permanent post. Normally the Radiographer or Therapist would enter at a Band lower than their current status for only a few months to get used to the department and receive training. After gaining the required competency the candidate would then move up to the next Band, perform the relevant duties and receive a pay rise. At present I am dealing with overseas candidates from both the USA and South Africa under the above system.

Hope this is of assistance to you.

Lindsay

Hey Lindsay.

I've been trying to crack that market over there with my radiology based service. I have been speaking with some people in the NHS and BUPA but holy cow what a bureaucracy.

Anyway if you are interested in some consulting shoot me an e-mail at pete.burger@3DVolumetrics.net
