i just renewed my nys licence, however i am not registered with the arrt. i have not worked in the x-ray for 10 years, but would love to get back. can i work in ny. also is there any online advance programs available. Question Question

If you're like me, you'll go directly to the source for answers, rather than an anonymous forum.

I went to the NYS Dept of Health - Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection here - www.health.state.ny.us/nysdoh/radtech/radtech.htm

What I found was that NY requires ARRT certification prior to issuing a license .. but you said that you haven't practiced in more than 10 years - it's possible that the rules have changed since you first earned yours.

In any case, I'm not sure what the rules for you would be now, but the folks who DO know are with the Bureau - the contact number listed on the pdf application is (518) 402-7580
