Help! I work for an orthopedic doctor who does a lot of hip replacements and resurfacings. He recently complained that the lateral hip view I do is not sufficient because it does not provide a lateral view of the acetabulum. The only way I have ever done a lateral hip is the unilateral frog method and I have even tried to oblique to the affected side and it has not helped. Any advice?? Please!!
There are also modified ones where you angle the CR cephalad 25-30 degrees.. at least it's a start.. It's kinda of strange the guy wouldn't help you or show you how to obtain the images he needs.. But I suppose a lot of these guys don't know alot about postioning?
