Hello,

I've recently made up my mind that I want to become an ultrasound technician, and am currently taking the basic classes needed for ultrasound. But I have a question, is this really a good field to work in, and make it a PERMANENT career? Because I really want to do this, but I'm afraid that in another 10 years, I will just get bored with it. Because all I will be doing is the same thing every day. I want a career that I can enjoy for pretty much my life, and I want to know, preferably from people who have or work in the ultrasound field, is this a good career to be in permanetly?

I believe that Ultrasound/Sonography is a rewarding field. However, I think that finding your "specialty" area (i.e., Echo, Vascular, General) would be making the most of your new career. So, I would suggest researching each specialty to make sure you choose the one best for you.

Also, I would like to mention an "online" Sonography/Ultrasound program that offers "hands-on" lab experience in a location convenient to you: http://www.academyofultrasound.com

I wish you luck in your research.
