I would say you have a better than average chance of getting in. I just applied to a hospital based program that received 800 applications of which 120 get the chance at a panel interview, and then 40 will be ultimately accepted. I made it to the panel interview, which will be in April. So, out of only 100 applicants I would say you have a very good chance. Be glad your not in Ca.

Unfortunately Bobby, korn858 is a student who does not have enough data to tell you "I would say you have a better than average chance of getting in." If korn858 was in instructor at a different facility, it still would not be possible to give you the reassurance you're looking for.

Every facility has it's own criteria for determining placement, and you know nothing about the other applicants. 100 people applied for 25 openings - that means that 75 will not be accepted. Suppose that 25 % of the applicants have 4.0 GPA?

For heaven's sake. Take a deep breath. If it's true that "im freaking out cause this is the only thing i wanna do (and I hope your writing was better on your application - an inability to string together a sentence with punctuation would certainly work against you)", then you'll apply again next year. Perhaps apply to this particular program and some others to increase your chances of acceptance.

But don't jump off a bridge if you don't make it this time. With so many applicants applying for so few positions, lots of folks are not accepted the first time out. Having to wait is not the end of the universe.

Read some of the messages here on this board - there are many examples of students who stuck it out and applied the 2nd or 3rd time and were accepted at some point.

So try this - if you don't get into the radiography program this year, attend that school anyhow. Get other courses out of the way - take whatever appropriate physics you can get into, do well. Take functional anatomy, medical terminology, ... anything else that you can think of.

This will do 2 things. It will relieve the burden of those courses once you finally start radiography, and it will demonstrate to the "powers-that-be" that your intentions are serious.

Good luck!

as another technologist, moderator of this site, is and will always be a student of hers, yes, listen to her.

your interview is an important part of being accepted, but it is not all there is. it's just like interviewing for a job. yes, you can sell yourself. yes, you can make a good impression. but if you don't have the educational requirements, or it appears to the employer/school that you really don't have an interest in the position, you're not going to get in, no matter how well you "sell yourself".

nancy6969: do you have reasonable expierence in the radiology field to know otherwise, or some new information that we haven't seen yet? since you've only posted twice, we haven't gotten to know each other very well.
