I have manage to get myself in some trouble. I have been a tech for 15 yrs. I was informed by the aart that they were going to do an ethics review on me because I failed to report 3 misdemeanor convictions. One in 1990 and two in 1999. This was a total oversight on my part. I thought that I had reported them, but I didn't. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge of probable outcome? I know that a messed up big time. Does anybody have an ARRT handbook from 94?

The question I would be asking is how they found out about the misdemeanors. I do not believe that they do random checking. In fact they say in their literature that investigations are usually done because a facility has called them about the RT in question. Every year they put out a list of the techs who they have sanctioned. I've been registered since 1992, and the misdemeanor and felony question has always been asked. They said in this year's publication that not reporting a conviction/no contest, is the worst thing you can do. It's better to be honest and report what you have and let them o.k. you, than let them find out elsewhere. _________________ Jen
