I have a BS Degree from the University of Illinois in Animal Biology. I have taken many science courses. All of really want to do is take the courses necessary for certification as a Radiologist Technician in the State of Illinois. What do I do?

Degree or not, you'll still be required to attend an accredited program of Radiologic Technology. Whether you attend a degree or non-degree program, it will take you 20-24 months.

In order to be hire-able, you'll need to become nationally certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (this is distinct from any state licensure requirements).

On the ARRT website, you'll find a list (alpha by state) of programs which have been accredited by an agency acceptable to the ARRT.

Look here: http://arrt.org/index.html?content=http://www.arrt.org/nd/listOfSchools.ndm/listSchools&iframe=yes

Good luck,
hjh, RT
