GE 64 baby!

personally, anything much above the 64 seems kinda like the way computers got to. it used to be all "pentium 100!", then the 133, etc. etc. etc., and now it really just matters how much ram and disk space you have. now that siemens dual source, or the flat panel scanner i would be interested in looking at. the last place i worked at the angio department had a new room that would take and actual CT image. that was prety cool.

Interesting that you mentioned RAM. We have the Toshiba 32 slice, now. And, sometimes when we're doing a really nasty trauma patient (Head, Cervical, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, w/ T & L Spine Recons), the scanner just freezes up. Sometimes it's during retro-recon. Sometimes it's during transfer to PACS.

I'm not much of a computer guru, but if my computer at home was having difficulty managing several tasks at the same time, I would think that a faster processor or more RAM would fix it. I've asked Toshiba about adding RAM and I've been told that it's not possible. I find that interesting.

the AquilionONE can scan one organ — including heart, brain and others — in one rotation because it covers up to 16 cm of anatomy using 320 ultra high resolution 0.5mm detector elements.
