Research programs out of state, or those that offer outreach or distance learning programs, such as:

Not to mention certification programs in all modalities offered, as well. |

I am sure every school is different. At Vol State CC, there are no waiting lists, (but also NO guarentee you'll ever get in) as it is extremely competitive. They use a point system to choose who gets in. It consists of:
-- Your overall GPA
-- Final grade in A & P
-- Strength of your 3 letters of recommendation
-- comments on your clinical observation forms
-- How many of the pre-req's you have completed toward your AAS in Radiologic Technology
-- Your interview score
I just got accepted last week and start July 1st. What I did was complete ALL my classes except the Radiography ones of course. I made sure I got an "A" in A&P since I knew how important that class was to them. I kept my GPA up. I joined Phi THeta Kappa Honor Society, hoping that would help (not sure if it did or not, but it cannot hurt) and then I prayed and prayed and prayed! Lol. They asked some really hard questions during the interview (3 people interviewed you all at once, talk about nerve wracking!) But I had been warned that they could spot a fake insincere person form miles away and to be very truthful and be yourself. Get all of your ducks in a row. Clean up any C's or lower on your transcript and be yourself and you'll do fine. Good luck to you! |
