Did your colleague tell the patient to hold the cassette? If he or she did not, and just let the cassette balance on the patient’s abdomen [if that is even possible], then your colleague committed a faux pas. Unless I'm missing something, your colleague shouldn't worry. It's not as if the cassette weighs a ton. Now, if anyone allows a cassette to fall in that manner when working with a frail and brittle “150 year old” patient, then shame on the tech.
By the way, I’ve been doing my sunrise knees AP because as a 1st-year student, I’ve found that’s been working great. However, I want to start doing them prone when possible. |

We do all our skylines supine using a Merchant board. Super easy. Angle the Merchant board 30 degrees, angle the tube 60 degrees, and then adjust the tube height and distance so the CR goes through the patellofemoral joint and projects it mid-cassette. You'll get lovely patellae every time.
