I graduated from an accredited US school in 2001(2002) I took some time off from clinicals due to pregnancy and was royally screwed by my instructor once I returned. I was placed in a clinical site that had 1 US machine and maybe 4 patients at the most per day. I was told that because I took time off, the other students had priority. While I managed to graduate, I didn't feel as if I was ready to start working or to take the boards. Now I have been away from US altogether for at least 6 years. I would like to gain more practice and reacquaint myself with scanning( physics wouldn't hurt either) and was thinking about taking another US course(program) Is this a good idea or does anyone know of any clinical sites/ hospitals etc in illinois(chicago or surrounding areas) that would be willing to take me on as a student?
What would you sugest if you were in my shoes? Any and all replies are welcome

The first thing I would suggest would be to visit with the ARDMS (http://www.ardms.org/) or the ARRT (http://www.arrt.org) either via telephone or website.
See what any requirements might be, and what suggested options are. I always figure it's best to go right to the source - depending on whether or not you intend to go with ARDMS or ARRT certification - and let them assist you.
