|
Any suggestions in positioning the large patient on the cysto table for kub would be helpful. When you can't locate the crest and the light field is the size of a pea, how can I position to make sure I have bladder and kidneys? |

Typically, having the patient rotate a leg between an internal and external oblique will allow you to palpate the trochanter, which is a landmark for the urinary bladder. Also, the patients elbow joint is (almost always) a landmark for the stomach, so it gives you a superior and inferior gauge for your lightfield. As well, you might try having them bend their leg up as if to position for an AP Hip. That'll give you an idea of where the symphysis is. |

Haha, wow, I can tell I'm tired. In review, Use the elbow joint as a superior landmark and gauge from there. Best I can give ya. |
