|
I recently graduated from x-ray school and would like to become certified in CT. I remember hearing a while back that you must be a technologist for 1 year before you are allowed to take the registry in another modality. Does anyone know if this is true or can you take the test whenever you like? Thanks. |

On the ARRT website, no mention of "1 year".
However, like all other modalities, the requirement is for clinical experience/competency - you can't take the test "whenever you like" (that would be similar to allowing you to sit the Radiography exam without attending an accredited program, don't you think?). Candidates are required to document a specific number/type of procedures before being eligible for the exam.
The ARRT is the most accurate source of information for questions regarding certification, registration and testing.
Clinical experience requirements can be found on the ARRT website.

Thanks for the answers. I spent over an hour on the ARRT website trying to find out and it was not mentioned anywhere, I guess because its not true. |
