general sonography or cardiac sonography?

Hello,
Does anyone have any advice for someone deciding between pursuing general sonography or cardiac sonography? What are the pros and cons of each field?

Both modalities are very interesting, I would say it just depends on what interests you. Cardiac would, at times, put you in the operating room - depending on the facility where you are employed. To me, THAT is very exciting. General, to me, is a bit monotonous. Again, this is ONLY my opinion.
Are you currently training in one of these areas? If so, which one?
Suggestion: Why not try both?

Can you tell me ... is the Academy of Ultrasound accredited by anyone? CAAHEP (which is the only accrediting agency recognized by the The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)?

Heather, you stole my question, lol. I would think any Heathcare degree, especially when you are dealing with people, would be a bit tough learning on-line. Rolling Eyes
