|
Hi, I'm new here.. so hello. I was just wondering how the profession in being a Radtech is? My cousin is one, and my parents are hoping me to become one too.. haha yeahh pressure. I'm in first year university taking up science courses because the school i'm going to apply to is Michener Institue in TO Canada, and they need at least one year university in Bio, Math and Physics. Is it too early to get into rad techs? Cause i'm not really familliar with that school, and I was thinking that it's where people who have completed any form of degree or something. Any feedback or comment would be great! Thanks.
Ohh, and i also have to write a personal profile, anyone can give me some pointers? |

Ohh sorry if that didn't make sense. I've read somewhere that this person took up radiology in his 3rd year in med school, so are the people taking up the course mostly... older? Just curious. hehe |

you may be thinking about a radiologist. rad techs or radiological technologists (radiographers) are the ones that make the images. we don't attend a "med school" per se, however we are somewhat trained in medicine. i'm not 100% sure about the radiologist training, but i know that they attend at least 4 years of med school before they become a resident.
for the technologists, it's a seperate program, and most likely a seperate school.
which were you interested in? _________________

i just noticed that you're not in the US. Canada's regulations may be different, but there's still a difference between a technologist and a radiologist.
check with the school to see what is offered, and try to find out what your regulatory agencey would be. _________________
