Just wondering how everyone does their foot scans. I want to put the foot down flat on the table to reduce motion, but i was taught to have the foot perpendicular to the table and use tape and/or something under foot to keep foot still. Any preferences or reasons for doing either way? Thanks for any input. Bill

Well here I am replying to my own post. I talked with the Radiologist and he said I probably learned to scan with the foot perpendicular because it was on an older/less slice scanner. Either way now would be alright since multislice scanners can recon in any plane easily. So, I scanned the foot with the foot flat (true axial). Then I did my coronal and sagittal recons. The patient was young so was able to tuck the other foot closer to the body to be out of the way. Does any one else scan feet this way? It worked out great and I didnt have to recon true coronals because foot wasnt totally perpendicular. Bill
