how often does the radiology technologist insert the tube into the anus? Is it something performed by the nurse or us?

We don't perform endoscopy.
Depending on the institution, we may take an image or two during the endo procedure, but RT's do not take any part in performing endoscopic procedures - they're surgical procedures performed by surgical staff (MD, RN, OR Techs)
